About Us
Memory Illumination is a family business dedicated to fostering creativity, artistic expression, and the joy of coloring for people of all abilities and ages.
Our family, like many others, is touched by dementia and Alzheimer's disease. In the summer of 2025, cousins Elizabeth and Connor decided to apply their complementary skills to create an arts engagement activity that is simple for everyone — family members, caregivers, and professionals — to use with their loved ones and people in their care.
Who We Are
Elizabeth Blower
Elizabeth Blower is a retired mental health and executive management professional. She holds a Master's Degree in Humanistic Education. Her interest in the benefits of art therapy began at an early age — as a young teen she volunteered with seniors, people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and those with visual impairments. As a high school senior, Elizabeth completed an internship with psychiatric outpatients from two Long Island hospitals.
After earning her Master's and while working with multiple human service organizations and as an adjunct professor in the Hudson Valley, NY, Elizabeth was recruited to be a mentor for the Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr. Foundation. She worked in the education field with diverse populations including college students, high school students, at-risk youth, under-resourced youth, seriously emotionally disturbed children, and adults with intellectual disabilities and physical impairments. She designed and presented training and education programs for all levels of students and staff in human service college programs and careers, wrote and managed numerous grant programs including a National Institutes of Mental Health Grant Program, and was a featured presenter at conferences in New York and California. All of these experiences, combined with her creative spirit, inspired Elizabeth to create Memory Illumination.
Connor Lehner
Connor Lehner is a Software Engineer at a Fortune 500 company, where he bridges the gap between enterprise-scale systems and cutting-edge innovation. Currently pursuing an M.S. in Artificial Intelligence at Johns Hopkins University (Class of 2028), Connor has dedicated his graduate research to the critical intersection of technology and integrity: Ethical AI. His research is personal — he believes the modern generation of AI art represents a vital frontier for ethical standards. For Connor, the goal is simple: ensuring that as AI evolves, it does so as a tool for preservation and ethical expression.
Our Mission
Memory Illumination is a guided art engagement activity for individuals experiencing cognitive impairment. We provide AI-generated, printable, personalized line art from photo uploads for coloring.
We strive to provide an easy-to-use program for the enjoyment and enhancement of our patrons' lives. We value the relationships we are creating through Memory Illumination. Memory Illumination was tested by real people in residential care facilities. We are exceedingly grateful for the opportunity to provide a fun arts engagement activity for enriched, shared experiences.
